The Best of Kyneton accommodation

Kyneton is 34 km to the south east of Castlemaine and 85km to the north west of Melbourne. It has a population of 4500 people.

Ideally located by the Campaspe river the township initially started as a camp site for diggers on the way to the Castlemaine and Bendigo gold fields. The clue is given by the first town on the trek from Melbourne being given the name: "Diggers Rest".

Each town is by a water course and is about a days walk from each other.
